Glen Falardeau - More
I joined the Air Cadets from 1976 to 79. Young and full of piss n' vinegar, I was with the Kiwanis 629 Air Cadets Squadron in Québec City, Québec.  October 14, 1978.
From 1979 until 1983 it was the Artillery with the Army. Running was my thing for most of my life.  Here in 1982 as a young one hook Gunner I was posted to 5 RALC (Regiment d'Artillerie Légère du Canada) "X" Bty (Batterie) at CFB (Canadian Forces Base) Valcartier Québec and during a regimental race I came in 2nd position from about 300 participants.
Wanting more excitement, I transferred to CFB Petawawa in Ontario as an Airborne Gunner, 1983-87. Not yet married here I am a Paratrooper in my barrack block room.  "E" Bty (Battery) Para part of 2 RCHA (Royal Canadian Horse Artillery) was the pinnacle of any Gunners wanting the very best in the elite Airborne Battery within the Airborne  Battle Group.
Eventually though I saw the light!  More traveling and adventure awaited me with the Air Force as a 933 Traffic Technician from 1987 to 2003.

In 1987 2 AMU (Air Movement Unit) CFB Trenton Ontario became my new home after I had Remustered (changed occupational trade) to the Air element.  Unlike most I was not so lucky as to switch from an Army to an Airforce environmental uniform so I retained my Land uniform.

In this photo I had just been promoted to MCpl and I am cornered by my supervisor Sgt Dave (Wishy) Wash and my MAMS WO Robbi Robichaud (RIP).  So yes, still with my Army work dress now within an Air Force trade, I guess they needed a bit off discipline and “up the standards”
I retired in 2003 from CFB Edmonton Alberta. That's me and my two caregivers, Anabel & Jena during the "Devon Days" town festivities, June 09, 2018.

Devon, Alberta, is a quiet bedroom community cradled between nearby Edmonton and the International Airport.

I truly enjoyed my whole career.

Tony, thank you for vesting your time and efforts into keeping this high quality and interesting newsletter going.  Between my Royal Canadian Legion Magazine subscription and the UKMAMS Old Bods Briefs, they are my favourite reads!
