DP acting OC SCAF Changi.  If you look carefully you can still see the soap bubbles behind the ears. Taken in October or November 1964, having been in post for just 2 or 3 months.  With SACW Lyn Hibbard, she is the one sitting down. Lyn is explaining that it is not a very large cigarette rolling machine but the latest in logistics (sorry equipment branch) technology.

The incredible CAM machine is being used to update the latest transaction (issued - returned - lost) on the item record card. Thereby rendering the office pen (for which I am responsible and holding) obsolete.  AND, the cunning technology bit, the machinery would then punch appropriate holes in a long piece of narrow paper.  A roll of which would then be entrusted to Fred, our Malay runner, who would pedal like mad each afternoon at 4pm on his trusty bicycle to the Station Commcen so the contents of the punch paper tape could then be transmitted to the huge RAF Supply Control Centre at Hendon!

Or, perhaps it was a giant cigarette roller?  I never really got the hang of this unit stores stuff!
