I joined the RAF in June 1980, and was posted to UKMAMS 'D' Shift in Nov. 80.

I did 4 months in Ascension just after Operation Corporate (Falklands War), and was posted to UKMAMS 'Delta' team Nov. 1983. I was posted to JATE on promotion to Corporal in 1986, and I was then posted to RAFU Goose Bay in 1988.

I was discharged at the 9 year stage in 1990.  I returned to the UK and joined the Greater Manchester Police.  I took a year off in 1994 and went to look for work in Ontario, Canada.  After doing a variety of jobs (none movements related), I was hired as a Constable with the Halton Regional Police, a service about 50 kms. west of Toronto.

After a brief stint in Drugs I'm back pounding the beat, but a lot better armed than I was in Manchester!  Police work is good fun, believe it or not!  Having spent a night in a Manchester jail,  I know both sides of that cell door!

SAC Phil 'Kicker' Gibson and Cpl. Pig Clarke. RAFU Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada 1990.

There were 6 movers based at this Canadian Airbase (I think the establishment has been raised).

We handled the Tornado JAFS out from RAFG and the UK,  and deployed for Red Flag (Nellis AFB) and staged for Med Man's (Batus Suffield).

The odd Gander flight was unlucky enough to pop in (no rates, on base accommodation!).

Halton Regional Police Force - Ontario, Canada 1999

Ex-Cpl. Chris 'Pig' Clarke (Delta team) in his new life on the Halton Regional Police Force, Ontario, Canada.  Sniff that weed!

I was on the drug eradication team for the numerous fine growths in our region. We got 3 tons in 2 days.
